PINDARI GLACIER TREK

The most easily accessible glacier in the Kumaon region, the Pindari Glacier has a beauty of its own. Situated between the snow-capped Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot Mountains, Pindari is a big and steep glacier measuring 3km in length and 0.25km in breadth. River Pindar originates from this Glacier and flows down to confluence into the river Alaknanda. The trekking route to the glacier traverses along the southern wilderness of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary offering some beautiful views of peaks like Panwali Dwar (6683m) and Maiktoli(6803m). A trek to the Pindari Glacier is a "soft adventure" experience and well within the capacity of any trekker who is amply rewarded by the magnificence and grandeur of the towering Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Delhi : Check into your choice of hotel, preferably in Central Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi - Almora
After breakfast drive to Almora. Upon arrival transfer to Hotel. Evening free.
Overnight at Hotel

Day 03: Almora - Song
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Song which is a small picturesque village by covering approx 190 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. Arrive Song and overnight stay in tents.

Day 04: Song - Dhakuri :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (14 km) to reach Dhakuri by crossing Dhakuri Pass 2800 m. Trek leads through very steep and dense forest. Dhakuri has a beautiful Meadow. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 05: Dhakuri - Dwali :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (20 km) to reach Dwali via Khati. Khati is also the last village on this trek. Arrive Dwali and overnight stay in tents.

Day 06: Dwali - Phurkia :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (5 km) to reach Phurkia. Today's trek is short and an easy one. Arrive Phurkia and overnight stay in tents.

Day 07: Phurkia - Pindari Glacier - Phurkia :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (14 km) to reach Pindari Glacier which is also called as Zero Point. After lunch trek down to reach Phurkia. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 08: Phurkia - Dwali :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (5 km) to reach Dwali. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 09: Dwali - Dhakuri :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (20 km) to reach Dhakuri. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 10: Dhakuri - Song :
Morning after breakfast start trekking (14 km) to reach the road head, Song. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 11: Song - Sitalakhet :
Morning after breakfast drive (140 km) to reach Sitlakhet. Arrive and overnight stay in Tourist Bungalow.

Day 12: Sitalakhet - Delhi :
Morning after breakfast drive (387 km) to reach Delhi. Arrive and checkinto hotel for overnight stay.

Day 13: Delhi Sightseeing
Full day sightseeing of Old & New Delhi. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14: Delhi departure
Departure transfer to Int. Airport to catch the flight to onward destination
